01 OVERVIEW

RIMOWA is almost everywhere we go, a heritage case that accompanies us in our every major life journey. It's the one that's never missing. A wedding. Moving abroad. A trip back home. Having witnessed that much personal transformation, RIMOWA already has the advantage of being part of the customer's memory. It's own documentary series, New Horizons, tells emotional travel stories through commissioned artists, also inspired me that, when RIMOWA already knows what travel means to people, the attachment is something worth building on for them to hold onto it.

02 THE PRODUCT

The Inner Journey turns that into a ritual system built around the one thing RIMOWA already owns, the case itself. A Journey Passport lives in the case, one intention written before departure, a photo and a line each day on the road, a reflection when you're back. Stamps collected at Activations sync to a digital companion, Journey Mode, which brings old memories back at the right moments and turns each trip into a private archive. An open community, the RIMOWA Tribe, makes it shared instead of private through a Journey Wall at every activation.

03 VALUE

The rollout starts with Tokyo in 2027, a Journey Passport retail launch at 5,000 units, then London, Seoul, and New York in 2028 with Journey Mode licensed to hotel and airline partners, then six cities a year by 2029 at full scale. Experiential repositioning like this is projected to lift average selling price 8 to 12%, because brands with real emotional equity can charge more independent of the product itself.

04 WHAT THIS TAUGHT ME

Everyone‘s asking what a luxury brand extension should look like ten years out, but the harder discipline wasn't building a new product. It was integrating RIMOWA's existing DNA into a wider vision for where the brand could go. The most credible brand extensions aren't invented, they're noticed. Matching future signals against existing brand equity could mostly be the best way to navigate a future extension.
